About the Event

We’re excited to announce our upcoming Veterans Surf Camp in Corpus Christi, hosted by Waves of Impact in partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project. This event is an opportunity to give back to the brave men and women who have served our country. We're calling on compassionate, selfless volunteers to help make this event unforgettable by providing surf lessons and spending quality time with veterans and their families.

Time: 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM (Surfing from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM)

As a volunteer, you’ll be helping veterans experience the joy of surfing, whether they’re beginners or experienced surfers. No formal surf teaching experience is required, just a love for the ocean and a heart for service. Volunteers will assist veterans in the water, help with surf instruction, and spend meaningful time with them and their families throughout the day.

This event is a chance to connect, share experiences, and give back to those who’ve sacrificed for us. Your time and energy will make a lasting impact on the lives of veterans and their loved ones.

Sign up today and be part of this incredible day of fun, healing, and community!

Water Volunteers: Anyone may sign up to be in the water as a lead  surfer, board catcher, pusher, or on the safety team. Volunteers in this  category must be diligent and aware of all surfers and their  surroundings in the water, as safety is our biggest priority. Our surf  teams consist of 1 lead surfer and 2-3 assistants to help push and ride a  wave in with a camper. First time and novice volunteers will be placed  on a team with experienced surfers. Volunteers who wish to participate  on the safety team will be responsible for watching the surfers, and  making sure their path remains clear of anyone in the water.  You may be  needed to assist in catching a board from time to time in shallow  water.

Beach Volunteers: This is the perfect area for anyone who wishes to  remain dry and interact with the families on the beach. Roles include  registration and check-in, t-shirt distribution and sales, food preparations preparations,  and spending time with our vets and families on the beach as they await their surf  time.

Photographers: If you have a professional camera and love capturing  ear to ear smiles, then this is the place for you! While living in the  moment is precious, having lasting memories on film are priceless. We  want our families, friends, participants and volunteers to have an  opportunity to relive these once in a lifetime events over and over  again.
